NEW BERLIN, New York: Cole Davies took advantage of a chaotic first turn of Moto 2 in the Unadilla National to win Moto 2 and score the overall victory.

Davies got strong start as he was to the inside of teammate Kayden Minear, who took a wide approach to the first turn and drove Levi Kitchen and Julien Beaumer off the track. The two points contenders were forced to stop and turn around to get back on course 37th and 38th.

Kitchen found his flow and rode back into the points at the end of Lap 2. He was 15th on Lap 3 and fought his way around Michael Mosiman on Lap 8 for 10th. Kitchen kept moving forward and on Lap 10 he passed Alex Larwood for seventh. With that position, he and Davies were tied for the points lead. Kitchen passed Pierce Brown for seventh two laps later to salvage the red plate.

Kitchen wasn't done. He caught Australian rider Brodie Conolly and passed him with one lap remaining. That would place him fifth overall and add another point to his championship total. Conolly refused to give up the battle, however, and he retook fifth in the final turn.

Chance Hymas settled into second in Moto 2 with a massive lead over third place. Hymas has been candid about not obsessing on wins, but he continues to creep in on the position.

Ryder DiFrancesco rode comfortably in third for most of the moto.

Carson Mumford came up a little short of scoring an overall podium. He finished fourth in Moto 2.
