The Washington Commanders have much more optimism about their offense after adding veteran wide receiver Stefon Diggs to the roster last week. They desperately needed to give Terry McLaurin some assistance down the field, and Diggs is proving to be a solid solution to that problem. On Wednesday, the team held a joint practice with the Miami Dolphins ahead of their preseason matchup on Thursday, and it's the first time the offense and defense have faced unfamiliar faces. The protection for Jayden Daniels currently has two backups playing with the first team due to injury, but that doesn't seem to bother him much. He had an outstanding day against the Dolphins. After practice on Wednesday, Commanders' defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw was asked how much he appreciates Daniels and likes his game.

"Best in the world, five, best in the world." The Commanders' entire roster has so much faith in Daniels' ability to lead this team, and that doesn't happen just because he's the starting quarterback. Daniels has been putting in the work. He does everything he can every day to not only make himself better, but to help the players around him improve. And that absolutely applies to the front line playing against him during practice. Daniels has been under scrutiny this offseason. Questions about his durability. Questions about whether he can remain in the pocket. And he walks around the training facilities with a determined smile on his face, ready to prove to the world that he will erase those questions as soon as the regular season starts.
