The 2026-27 season continues to inch closer, and for the Philadelphia 76ers, anticipation has never been higher. The front office swung for the fences with the big addition of Jaylen Brown in a trade with the Boston Celtics before then landing LeBron James in free agency. The Sixers are going to field one of the most talented teams in the franchise's history--if not the most talented.
The NBA released the entire 82-game schedule on Thursday with the Sixers now knowing all of their opponents in the regular season. Of course, the league revealed that they will open the season on Oct. 20 against the defending champion New York Knicks, as well as other primetime games, but now there are other big matchups revealed.
Big ones that stand out:
- No. 1 pick AJ Dybantsa and the Washington Wizards visit the Sixers on Jan. 12
- Paul George makes his return to Philadelphia with the Boston Celtics on Nov. 10
- Brown makes his return to Boston on Jan. 21
- Cade Cunningham and the Detroit Pistons visit Philadelphia on Oct. 25
- Joel Embiid and Nikola Jokic match up on Dec. 2 in Philly and March 28 in Denver
- Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Miami Heat visit Philly on Nov. 25

The Sixers will be looking to end a long title drought. This franchise has not won a championship since 1983 and hasn't been past Round 2 since 2001. With the new additions and all of the talent assembled, the Sixers hope to finally break through and end some long droughts for this franchise.
