Corinthians lowers their asking price for Juventus target

Juventus have been monitoring André Luiz of Corinthians in recent months, but the Brazilian club had initially demanded a high fee for his signature. Corinthians expected several offers for their young players this summer and believed they could secure significant transfer income from their emerging talents.

However, the club have been surprised by the limited interest in their players. Corinthians have some of the most promising youngsters in Brazilian football, but fewer European clubs have made enquiries than they anticipated.

Juventus Previously Walked Away

Luiz broke into the Corinthians first team last year, and the 20 year old is already regarded as one of the top midfielders in Brazilian football. His emergence attracted the attention of Juventus, who wanted to become the European club to secure his signature.

The Bianconeri considered him an ideal player for their squad, but the asking price proved too high. Juventus therefore decided to withdraw from the race before the transfer window had even opened, leaving the Brazilian midfielder at Corinthians.

That situation could now change, however, because Corinthians have reportedly become more willing to negotiate over the player. Juventus could therefore have an opportunity to revisit a transfer that previously appeared too expensive.

Corinthians Lower Asking Price

According to Tuttojuve, Corinthians have lowered their asking price for Luiz and are now more open to accepting a lower fee. The Brazilian club had expected greater interest from European teams but has been surprised by how few clubs have shown interest since the transfer window opened.

That change could encourage Juventus to return to negotiations. The Bianconeri already consider Luiz an ideal player, and a reduced asking price could make a deal more realistic for the Italian club.

For Corinthians, accepting a lower fee could now be preferable to holding on to their original valuation while interest remains limited. For Juventus, the change presents an opportunity to secure a young midfielder they previously regarded as an attractive addition.

The next step will depend on whether Juventus decide to make another approach. With Corinthians now more willing to negotiate, the conditions for a possible transfer appear more favourable than they were when the Bianconeri first considered signing Luiz.
