Reason No. 2 is simple but important. Von Miller has a Hall of Fame career’s worth of lessons to share. The Cowboys have Donovan Ezeiruaku, a second-year edge rusher, and Malachi Lawrence, a rookie. I don’t think you could have asked for a better mentor in the outside linebackers room.

Every time Malik Davis gets a chance he makes the most of it, and it’s added a wrinkle to the Cowboys running back competition following the preseason opener.
Once Malik Davis got some carries, the running game felt different. He ran seven times for 39 yards and seemed to have more juice than the two backs in front of him.
Malik Davis runs hard and seems to be more shifty than Blue or Mafah. Having spent a few years in the NFL bouncing around has seemed to help him find his groove at running back. Israel Abanikanda found room later too.

Camden Brown is following in the footsteps of a long line of former UDFA Cowboys receivers that star in the summer.
For Brown, his book is far from written. Recent history shows that there is a wide range of outcomes this can go. Camp darlings have made the team before, so it’s not absurd that he follows in their footsteps. However, there isn’t a history of huge success stories unless you go back even further to Cole Beasley and Miles Austin for that one, but who knows.

The head ball coach was pleased with the win in PS week 1.
“Lot of great things. [I] thought the second half was really well-played. I thought the defensively, they were amazing. I think three or four three-and-four-and-outs. I thought they were awesome. A couple of the red zone stops.
Jonathan Mingo, I think it was the first half, made an incredible play on a punt return, stopped it. Obviously, we muffed the fumble there late. Defense goes right back out there [and gets a stop]. Little bit of training camp football, a little sloppy. That’s kind of what you deal with. But overall, I thought the team effort to get the win against a good opponent was really good.“
