Is this the year the Dallas Cowboys finally go deep in the playoffs? Jerry Jones is hoping the answer is, "Yes." So are the many Cowboys fans out there who haven't seen this team in the postseason since the 2023 season. One thing, though, is clear: The Cowboys have a solid franchise quarterback in Dak Prescott. His stats are strong even when the team isn't winning games. Last season, Prescott played in all 17 games. He notched 4,552 passing yards, which was third in the entire NFL. He also had 30 passing touchdowns. Now, Prescott is getting some respect in the NFL. He's considered one of the best players in the league. Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is one of the best in the league In the ranking, Prescott is No. 31. That's a good spot to be, but what's even better is what the league says about him. They even admit that Prescott is underappreciated. "Not among his peers, who nominated him to the NFL Top 100 list for a seventh time, but Prescott feels underrated and underappreciated across the NFL fandom despite (or maybe due to) playing for America's Team," they note. "He led the NFL in completions for a second time in 2025 and has quarterbacked a top-seven scoring offense in four of the past five seasons, the outlier being a year he missed nine games." The league makes a good point that last season, "it was basically all on his shoulders" because of the Cowboys' weak defense. Hopefully this season will be a different story with the changes Jones has made to the defense. More NFL news:
