When Cristiano Ronaldo's run at the World Cup came to an end this summer, the 41-year-old Portugal star made it clear that he was not going to attempt to prolong his international career into the 2030 World Cup. But as for his club career? He left that open-ended. On Sunday, we got some clarity on Ronaldo's career. In an interview with Vogue, Ronaldo revealed that the 2026-27 season with the Saudi Pro League's Al-Nassr will likely be his final season of soccer. Ronaldo — who will turn 42 in February — is on the last season of his current $700 million club contract. Ronaldo said of his career:
"This is probably my last year of football, and I want to leave a spectacular legacy."
He added that he's already started mapping out a life after soccer. Just last week, Ronaldo and longtime partner Georgina Rodríguez announced their marriage.
"I have my future all mapped out. I have so many things to keep me busy that to tell you just one thing is hard. "Because football could leave a big hole, you have to fill your time in various ways, not just one. And also have more fun, travel more, watch and play padel, which I really like, and continue to enjoy what I've earned -- what we've earned. "Because after all it's been 25 years with a lot of sacrifice."
