In an era where most Division I recruits play one side of the ball, Melbourne Central Catholic senior Noah Flores relishes playing on both. “I can do everything,” Flores said. “Just watch out for No. 0 on defense or offense or special teams.” Flores began his high school journey at Satellite, where he rushed for 640 yards and 5 touchdowns and recorded 30 tackles and 3 interceptions as a freshman. He transferred to MCC in 2024 and in two seasons Flores compiled 2,129 total yards and 20 touchdowns, 142 tackles, 7 interceptions and 8 passes defensed. “It’s been a crazy one. I started since I was 4 years old. My parents have always been pushing me to be my best,” Flores said. “It’s just been a blessing because I’ve been learning all these new people and creating brothers that I would have never imagined.”
Flores said it was his mindset that propelled him to the type of career he’s had. “No matter who’s on the field, I believe I’m the best on the football field every time I step on the field,” Flores said. Flores is joining Harvard for the next stop in his football career. He announced his commitment to the Ivy League school on April 23. “It’s truly a blessing to even have that opportunity. It was a family decision. What we looked for in colleges is how the coaches react to the players and what they prioritize,” Flores said. “What the coaches prioritize brotherhood and that’s what MCC has, what coach (Ryan) Schneider pushes, what coach (Willie) Tillman pushed. That’s truly what I want for the upcoming seasons.” After reaching the Class 1A regional semifinals last year, MCC looks to take the next step and advance to at least the state semifinals for the first time since 2016. “I’m just excited to go out there,” Flores said. “Our main goal is to win a state championship and lead my boys.” This article originally appeared on Florida Today: Dandy Dozen: Noah Flores' versatility, mindset led him to Harvard
