Ketel Marte was not with the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday night in Boston.
It turns out that Marte just didn’t show up to Fenway Park.
Marte did not make it to the contest between the Diamondbacks and the Boston Red Sox on Monday, according to MLB.com’s Steve Gilbert. The Diamondbacks had hoped that Marte would make it up until close to game time, but that just wasn’t the case.
While specifics of his absence are not yet known, and it’s unclear when he’ll be back, the team opted to place Marte on the restricted list.
Marte currently holds a .249 batting average with 21 home runs and 67 RBI this season, his 10th with the Diamondbacks. The team entered Monday’s game in Boston with a 66-59 record, which has them in third in the NL West.
