Diesel Dart, younger brother of Jaxson Dart, scores first TD of senior season for Corner Canyon (Utah)

The 2026 Utah high school football season is officially underway, and as always, Corner Canyon is the team to beat. The Chargers are after a fourth-straight state title and once again enter as the No. 1 team in the Beehive State, per the Rivals Composite Rankings.

There’s no cupcake on the schedule for the season-opener, though. Corner Canyon is in Kaysville to take on Davis, the preseason No. 8 team in the state. The Darts opened the scoring on Friday night, but the Chargers have since responded with a Dart of their own.

Diesel Dart, a dynamic senior two-way playmaker, got loose and hauled in a 63-yard touchdown reception to open his account for the season. The three-star Utah commit is the younger brother of former CC star and current New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart.

Dart is ranked as a safety in the 2027 cycle. As a junior last fall, he racked up 48 tackles, five PBUs and a pair of interceptions. He plans on making an impact on both sides of the ball and he’s doing just that in his final high school season-opener.

He’s the No. 122 safety and No. 16 senior prospect in Utah in the 2027 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the No. 1,117 prospect overall.
