The Los Angeles Dodgers were once again shut down offensively, losing their second game to the Milwaukee Brewers in the homestand 4-1.

The Dodgers had a chance to take the lead in the National League, but they will instead, at best, remain one game behind the Brewers. If they lose on Sunday, the lead will grow to three games.

Also, a loss on Sunday would cost the Dodgers their tiebreaker with the Brewers, which could be vital for postseason seeding.

Luckily, on Sunday, the Dodgers get Tarik Skubal on the mound, and that will always put the team in a good chance to win.

Justin Wrobleski’s struggles continue

Things started out well for the Dodgers, all things considered, with Justin Wrobleski getting a clean first inning; however, his home run problems crept up again in the second inning, allowing a two-run home run.

Then, in the fourth inning, Wrobleski gave up a second home run, this time a two-run shot. It was the last run scored by either team, but the Brewers did not need any more.

The Dodgers’ offense goes missing

In terms of hits, the Dodgers and Brewers were even, with five hits from each team; the only difference was that the Brewers hit home runs, while the Dodgers could do nothing with Milwaukee’s pitching staff.

It was always going to be a tough afternoon for the Dodgers, given that Jacob Misiorowski was going to be pitching in the day, with shadows helping him out.

Relative to other outings, the Miz had an average day, giving up five hits and only getting six strikeouts, but the Dodgers could not put sustained pressure on him.

When the Brewers went to the bullpen, Antonio Senzatela and Aaron Ashby had three shutout innings of work between them.

Saturday’s game continued a theme of lackluster offense for the Dodgers, putting pressure on the pitching to be elite every night; today, it was only solid, and LA couldn’t overcome it.
