New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye still has a sour taste in his mouth from the Super Bowl LX loss against the Seattle Seahawks. He was in a reflective mood when speaking with SI.com's Albert Breer in a recent interview. It's clearly a game that Maye wants back after going 27-of-45, throwing for 295 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in the 29-13 loss. He was also sacked six times and lost one fumble. There are a lot of things that the 23-year-old quarterback wishes he could have done differently. “The way that last game ended…," Maye said, via Breer. "I feel like when our defense played the way it played, it gave us a chance to win. It’s my responsibility, with the offense, to put points on the board. When you feel like you don’t do your part, that’s what eats at you. "What could I have done more after practice to hit that throw? I can think of five, ten plays in the Super Bowl right now where you’re like, ‘Man, this play could change your life.’ You win this game, and just knowing that that’s gone, and how much work you have to put in to get back to that moment, it’s just something that I won’t forget. I think it’ll help me.” Maye will have a shot at redemption when opening the season against the Seahawks in a rematch. Granted, a Super Bowl isn't on the line, but the young quarterback could exorcise his demons if the Patriots go into Seattle and come out victorious. He'll be entering the season with more offensive weapons than ever before, with the addition of star receivers A.J. Brown and Romeo Doubs. The Patriots have also worked hard to improve the offensive line during the offseason. All of the pieces are in place for Maye to pick right back up where he left off last season.
