The Atlanta Dream bounced back in a big way on Tuesday, upsetting the Las Vegas Aces by double digits, 97-82, at Michelob ULTRA Arena.

The Dream used a balanced attack anchored by Rhyne Howard, Allisha Gray, Angel Reese, and Jordin Canada to stave off the Aces. They redeemed themselves after losing to the Indiana Fever, 95-91, on Sunday at State Farm Arena.

Atlanta improved to 22-13, while Las Vegas fell to 24-13.

In the postgame interview, Gray expressed her full confidence in their team.

“If we continue playing like this, this is championship basketball. It’s hard to win in Vegas. They have great fans. They are a great team. But when we play together, it shows what we can do, and everybody’s at their best. We share the ball. Our offense shows that everybody eats,” said Gray.

She had 21 points, six rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Howard tallied 23 points, four rebounds, three assists, four steals, and two blocks, while Reese added 21 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, and four steals. Canada compiled 17 points, six rebounds, five assists, and three steals.

The 31-year-old Gray noted that they focused on preventing the Aces from getting second-chance points.

“If you give the Aces a second shot, they can get open shots. So the biggest thing was to limit them to one shot and then go out and convert. We know we’re at our best when we’re pushing the pace,” added the four-time All-Star.

The Dream had 15 steals and scored 17 points off the Aces’ 17 turnovers. They also punished the defending champions in the interior, dominating the points in the paint, 44-22.

Atlanta will face the Los Angeles Sparks on Thursday.
