PolicyDriftEx Aggies Power Hitter Is Already Making His Case for a Promotion

Former Texas A M baseball star milb.com hasn’t needed long to prove his bat belongs in professional baseball. Through his first 10 minor-league games, Grahovac has produced a .256/.356/.462.

Former Texas A&M baseball star milb.com hasn’t needed long to prove his bat belongs in professional baseball. Through his first 10 minor-league games, Grahovac has produced a .256/.356/.462 slash line with 10 hits, two home runs and three RBIs. MORE: Marcel Reed-Isaiah Horton Connection Could Unlock Texas A&M Offense He’s collected at least one hit in nine games and recently extended his hitting streak to six with his first multi-hit performance. Those numbers don’t scream immediate promotion on their own, but the larger picture should have his organization paying attention.

Welcome home, Gavin Grahovac! pic.twitter.com/ECVloZ1p3z — Rancho Cucamonga Quakes (@RCQuakes) August 16, 2026 Grahovac is still regaining the timing and consistency that were disrupted by a serious shoulder injury during his sophomore season at Texas A&M. He spent much of his final year in College Station working his way back physically, making his encouraging professional debut even more impressive. The power that made Grahovac one of the SEC’s most intriguing young hitters has already made the jump with him. His second professional home run provided another glimpse of the compact, violent swing that allows him to punish pitches left over the plate. His plate discipline also offers reason for optimism. Grahovac’s .356 on-base percentage is 100 points higher than his batting average, indicating he’s finding ways to reach base even while adjusting to unfamiliar pitchers and the daily demands of professional baseball. There’s one obvious area that needs work. Grahovac has struck out 15 times through 10 games, an average of 1.5 per contest. That rate will have to decline as he climbs the minor-league ladder and faces pitchers with better command and more effective secondary offerings. But early strikeouts shouldn’t overshadow everything he’s doing well. Newly drafted players frequently struggle when moving from college baseball into the professional game. Wooden bats, longer schedules, travel and advanced pitching plans can expose even highly regarded prospects. Grahovac has responded by producing consistent contact, reaching base and flashing legitimate extra-base power. His two-hit performance against the Ontario Tower Buzzers was another important step. Rather than relying solely on home runs to create value, Grahovac showed he can stack quality at-bats and contribute throughout a game. A promotion to High-A shouldn’t be automatic after only 10 appearances, and Double-A would present a much steeper challenge. Still, Grahovac’s physical tools and SEC experience could allow him to move faster than the typical young prospect. MORE: Texas A&M 2027 Recruiting Class: A Whole New Aggies Approach? If he reduces the strikeouts while maintaining his current power and on-base production, his stay at the lowest levels of the minors could be brief. Grahovac doesn’t look overwhelmed. He looks like a former Aggie beginning his climb toward the major leagues.
