Former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Noah Brown is getting another opportunity, this time with the Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders announced Sunday that they signed Brown to their active roster, adding an experienced and physical target to their passing game. Las Vegas released defensive tackle Benito Jones to create the necessary roster spot. MORE: 'It's Mine!' Cowboys at Seahawks Star Of the Game: Did Camden Brown Just Make The Team? Brown arrives in Las Vegas after spending the previous two seasons with the Washington Commanders. His availability became a major concern during that stretch, as injuries forced him to miss 19 games. When healthy, however, Brown remained productive enough to demonstrate why NFL teams continue to value him. He recorded 40 receptions for 536 yards and one touchdown during his time in Washington. That’s an average of 13.4 yards per catch, evidence that Brown can provide more than blocking and possession work when given opportunities downfield. Cowboys fans should remember Brown as one of the team’s more dependable developmental success stories. Dallas selected him in the seventh round of the 2017 NFL Draft following his college career at Ohio State. Brown never became a featured weapon for the Cowboys, but he carved out a six-year role through physical blocking, special-teams work and the ability to play multiple receiver positions. His best season in Dallas came in 2022, when he caught 43 passes for 555 yards and three touchdowns. Brown emerged as an important secondary option for Dak Prescott while the Cowboys searched for consistent production behind CeeDee Lamb. Brown left Dallas after that season and signed with the Houston Texans. He produced 33 receptions for 567 yards and two touchdowns during his lone year in Houston, averaging an impressive 17.2 yards per reception. Across his NFL career, Brown has accumulated 155 catches for 2,083 yards and six touchdowns. Those aren’t superstar numbers, but they reflect the steady value of a veteran who’s willing to handle the less glamorous responsibilities of the position. The move gives Brown a fresh start after injuries disrupted his momentum in Washington. Las Vegas isn’t asking him to become the centerpiece of its offense, but his size, toughness and experience could help stabilize the Raiders’ receiving rotation. MORE: Cowboys Rookie Mourns, And Stars, In Preseason Debut: Top 10 Takes For Dallas, it’s another reminder of Brown’s unlikely staying power. Few seventh-round receivers last nine NFL seasons. Brown did it by embracing every assignment—and now the former Cowboys role player has earned another chance to prove he still belongs.
