The worst fears for former Seattle Seahawks safety Jamal Adams have been confirmed.

A season removed from playing all 17 games for the Las Vegas Raiders, the oft-injured Adams is done for the remainder of 2026 after hurting his knee in his Minnesota Vikings debut versus the New York Giants.

Adams made the switch to linebacker under Pete Carroll last season, and as a late camp addition to the Vikings, he figured to be a part of defensive coordinator Brian Flores’ blitz packages throughout the season. He made his presence felt right away with a 4-yard tackle for loss on Giants running back Devin Singletary.

Unfortunately for Adams, on the 12th and final snap of the afternoon (and his season), he hurt his right knee on Jaxson Dart’s eventual touchdown pass to Malachi Fields. Adams was carted into the locker room, with Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell ominously saying that the injury was “not good.”

The former All-Pro safety, best known for the high-profile trade from the New York Jets to the Seahawks for two first-round picks, has dealt with extensive injury issues dating back to his first season with Seattle back in 2020. He’s dealt with multiple shoulder surgeries, including one to repair a torn labrum in 2021, as well as a torn quad barely a quarter into the 2022 season opener versus the Denver Broncos. His 2023 ended early due to ongoing knee issues, and with it so did his Seahawks career.

Having sustained yet another serious leg injury, it’s fair to wonder if his NFL career is in jeopardy after starting so brightly.
