Crystal Palace officials met Chelsea suits over the weekend to talk about transfers – although nobody is quite sure which.

There is less than a week until the Premier League starts up again, but there’s more than a fortnight of transfer window left, and things could be about to go up a gear again.
On his Substack, our writer Simon Phillips has been reporting on what his sources at Chelsea have told him went down at the weekend. He says that Chelsea officials met with their counterparts at Crystal Palace to talk transfers.
He admits there’s no information on what exactly was discussed, but there have been plenty of players linked back and forth between the two teams.
Three names that may have been discussed at weekend summit

Axel Disasi is the most obvious name – Chelsea want to sell him, Crystal Palace want to sign a defender, and they’ve been linked with him before.
Also potentially on the agenda is Josh Acheampong, who has been connected with a potential loan to Palace this summer.
The final, and most ambitious idea, was Adam Wharton. He’s long been a target for Chelsea, and if the Blues sell Enzo Fernandez to Man City then they might finally act on their interest.
