SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) - The Explorers return home after a pair of road sereis, picking up crucial wins against Fargo-Moorhead and Winnipeg as the team looks to keep its postseason hopes intact with about three weeks remaining in the American Association regular season. Sioux City has continued to chip away and cut into their postseason deficit, picking up four wins over a pair of road series at Fargo-Moorhead and then-West Division leading Winnipeg. In Saturday's game against the Goldeyes, the Explorers plated a season-high 17 runs in the win - boosting the team's batting average into the league's top five at .278. The Explorers enter the week 2.5 games back of I-29 rival Sioux Falls with 20 games to go, understanding the importance of the six-game home stand. "It's go time. So we're viewing it as we're four and two in the playoffs right now. So two big series wins for us to to cut into the deficit that we are sitting at right now," X's manager Steve Montgomery mentioned. "So we know that these two series in this in this home stretch is going to be very, very important. We have to go out and have got to play good baseball and come away with some series wins."
