Liverpool Transfer News: Fabrizio Romano Provides Rio Ngumoha Update

Last season was a painful watch for Liverpool supporters, but at least one good thing came from it. Rio Ngumoha.

After scoring a 90+10th minute winner against Newcastle United at the age of 16, Ngumoha became one of the hottest prospects in Europe.

Now aged 17, and with an England cap under his belt, he’s ready to step up and be a major part of Andoni Iraola’s squad for the upcoming season.

There was a slight scare earlier in the window, with reports that Bayern Munich were heavily interested in a move for the youngster. However, their interest has since cooled and the teenager looks set to stay at Anfield.

Fabrizio Romano’s Update

Fabrizio Romano has reinforced that idea and has made a clear statement about Ngumoha’s future.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, he said: “Just to clarify, should anything happen with Liverpool moving for two wingers. Rio Ngumoha is untouchable.”

“He was never close to joining Bayern Munich this summer. He is absolutely a crucial part of the present and future project.”

With Mohamed Salah already leaving Liverpool this summer, and Cody Gakpo potentially still to follow, Ngumoha is set for a huge role in the squad.

Victor Munoz has arrived from Osasuna for £34.5m, and Liverpool remain in active talks over a massive deal for PSG forward Bradley Barcola.

But as it stands, Ngumoha is in line to start Liverpool’s opening Premier League fixture at Newcastle United next weekend.

It’s impossible to not think about his dramatic winner there last season and hopefully he can produce another moment of magic.
