Fakhar Zaman scored 115 runs off 105 balls, including 7 fours and 4 sixes, to help Pakistan Greens defeat Pakistan Gold by 128 runs in the National Champions Cup on August 14. Pakistan Greens posted 314 runs, and Pakistan Gold were bowled out for 186 in 37 overs.

Beyond his century, Fakhar also dismissed Kamran Ghulam with left-arm spin, claiming his first List A wicket in over four years. He took 2 catches in the match and was named Player of the Match for a complete all-round display.

This was Fakhar's second consecutive century in the tournament. He had scored 123 runs against Pakistan Whites in the previous match on August 11, 2026, when Pakistan Greens successfully chased down 277 runs. Fakhar was also named Player of the Match in that game. Across two matches in the National Champions Cup, he has accumulated 238 runs. Omair Yousuf contributed 74 runs and Shadab Khan, who captains Pakistan Greens, added 61 runs in the win over Pakistan Gold.

Why did Fakhar Zaman bowl in the match against Pakistan Gold?

Fakhar had also bowled 4 wicketless overs for 11 runs in the previous match against Pakistan Whites on August 11, 2026, before finally breaking through against Pakistan Gold. His dismissal of Ghulam with left-arm spin was his first List A wicket since March 2022, when he had dismissed Haider Ali for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa against Northern Pakistan in the Pakistan Cup. He jokingly credited skipper Shadab for his bowling spells in the game.

"In 2018, Shadab Khan said, 'Whenever I become captain, I will bowl you overs. So, the credit for my bowling goes to Shadab Khan," Fakhar said.

What does Fakhar Zaman's List A bowling record look like?

Fakhar Zaman has 22 wickets in List A cricket across 43 innings. His most notable bowling performance came in 2016, when he took a five-wicket haul against England Lions.

His wicket against Ghulam ended a gap of more than four years in his List A wicket column, with his previous entry dating to March 2022. The dismissal added a bowling dimension to what was already a dominant individual performance in the National Champions Cup.
