The first week of the PGA Tour’s postseason is now behind us, and Scottie Scheffler is back to his peak form.
The top-ranked golfer in the world ran away with the FedEx St. Jude Championship on Sunday and secured a massive eight-shot win at TPC Southwind in Memphis. It marked his first win since January after he had finished in second five different times throughout the season.
Scheffler was already in the lead in the FedExCup standings, and wasn’t at risk of losing it. The victory, the 21st of his career, only padded his lead. The top 10 in the standings remained largely the same, though Sam Burns jumped up two spots and Si Woo Kim fell out. And, though he had his worst week of the season, Rory McIlroy is safely into the Tour Championship already. He’s entering the week at No. 13.
It’s now time for the BMW Championship, set at Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis. Only the top 30 golfers in the FedExCup standings on Sunday night will advance to the Tour Championship next week at East Lake in Atlanta. There are no cuts, either, so everyone in the 50-man field has a legitimate shot with 750 FedExCup points up for grabs for the winner.
Here’s everything you need to know to keep up with the FedExCup bubble this week in Missouri.

Rickie Fowler and Bud Cauley are both tied for the final slot in the standings entering this tournament, and can’t afford a bad week if they want to make it to East Lake. Though he hasn’t won since 2023, Fowler has been playing much better this season. He finished in second at the Truist Championship and has five top-10 finishes on the year, most recently at the Rocket Classic last month.
Gary Woodland is the first man out, though he’s just two points behind Cauley and Fowler. Justin Thomas is perhaps the biggest name who still needs to make a move. Thomas is entering the tournament at No. 44 in the standings. While he’s only missed a single cut all season, Thomas has rarely been in true contention all year.
