Indiana (23-12) defeated Atlanta (21-13), 95-91 in overtime, at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
Former Lady Vol Mercedes Russell scored her first points for the Fever this season. She scored two points and converted two free throw attempts in three minutes. Russell signed with Indiana on Aug. 10 with a season-ending injury exception following Damiris Dantas’ knee surgery.
Russell played at Tennessee from 2013-18. She was selected in the first round of the 2018 WNBA draft (No. 22 overall) by New York. The former Lady Vol played for the Liberty (2018), Seattle (2018-24) and Los Angeles (2025), winning two WNBA championships (2018, 2020).
Caitlin Clark led the Fever in scoring with 26 points against Atlanta. She converted 9-of-20 field goal attempts, 3-of-10 three-point attempts and 5-of-6 free throw attempts. Clark also recorded nine assists and two rebounds.
Atlanta guard Allisha Gray led all scorers with 32 points. Angel Reese also totaled 15 points, 14 rebounds and six assists for the Dream.
Aliyah Boston led Indiana with 14 rebounds, while scoring 18 points. Sophie Cunningham also played 32 minutes for the Fever, recording three points, seven rebounds and one assist.
Kelsey Mitchell and Makayla Timpson scored 20 points each for Indiana.
