Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here. Both Caitlin Clark and Stephanie White remarked on Fever star Kelsey Mitchell's early exit from Indiana's 101-95 win over the Toronto Tempo on Tuesday night. Mitchell departed after the third quarter with a game-high 29 points. White said the All-Star guard "just got overheated" inside Coca-Cola Coliseum, where the Fever had never played before Tuesday. Clark though went directly for the Tempo's arena staff, and she criticized the temperature inside the arena. MORE: Fever's Caitlin Clark continues a streak that has her thinking MVP "Maybe if Canada had air conditioning, that would be helpful," Clark told ESPN's Holly Rowe. "It's a million degrees in here, but hopefully she'll be okay."

Caitlin Clark shows love for Toronto/Canada (other than the lack of air conditioning in the arena) 😭 🇨🇦: “Well, maybe if Canada had air conditioning, that would be helpful. It’s really cool to… pic.twitter.com/8LTM8nQPCw — Omer Osman (@OmerOsman200) August 19, 2026 Before she left, Mitchell was able to extend her streak of 20-plus point games to 20, which ties A'ja Wilson for the WNBA record. Mitchell's exit from the Tempo game might concern Fever fans who remember how Indiana's valiant 2025 playoff run ended against Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces.  In Game 5 of the WNBA semifinals, Mitchell collapsed to the floor at Michelob Ultra Arena with what was later diagnosed as rhabdomyolysis -- a potentially life-threatening condition in which muscle tissue breaks down and introduces toxic proteins into a person's bloodstream. Though the two incidents may have little to do with one another, the Fever was smart not to risk Mitchell's health and availability if she was starting to cramp or overheat, as White put it. The Fever -- winners of six in a row -- visit the Dallas Wings on Thursday night, which means Indiana will be playing in another warm climate. It remains to be seen how carefully White and the Fever staff monitor Mitchell, who is the WNBA's second-leading scorer at 24.3 points per game. More WNBA news:
