Dusan Vlahovic has finally said goodbye to Juventus after accepting a big-money three-year deal from Besiktas in the Turkish Super Lig.
The Serbian striker left Juve at the end of June after several months of talks failed to result in a contract being offered to him, although there were suggestions he could return. Juve were open to him knocking on their door to accept the offer they had placed on the table while they worked on a move for Randal Kolo Muani.
Luciano Spalletti used DV9 a lot last season, so the manager never hid his admiration for the striker, whom he hoped would become a Bianconeri player for a second time.
Vlahovic Agrees to Move to Turkiye
After several months of talks, which were necessary to convince Vlahovic about moving to Turkiye, he has now agreed to make the switch. The striker had waited fruitlessly for clubs such as Bayern Munich and Barcelona to make him an offer, but he will now play under Vincenzo Italiano, one of the best coaches he has had.
Vlahovic has now brought an end to the uncertainty surrounding his future, with his decision also marking the end of his time at Juventus. His departure comes after the club had remained open to welcoming him back.
Striker Sends Message to Juve Fans
He wrote to Juve fans as quoted by Alfredo Pedulla:
“There are times when finding the right words is difficult. And this is one of them. When I arrived in Turin I had a huge dream, a great desire to show who I was and the pride of wearing a shirt that carries with it an incredible story.
“My journey with Juventus is over.
“These have been intense years. Years of victories, of goals, of immense joys, but also of difficult moments. But I always tried to give my all, every time I came on the pitch.”
Vlahovic’s message formally brings his Juventus journey to an end, following several months of uncertainty over whether he would remain in Turin or find a new club. His move to Besiktas now provides the striker with a fresh opportunity in the Turkish Super Lig.
