Former Georgia Bulldogs offensive guard Jamaree Salyer was expected to become or at least compete to be a starter with the Miami Dolphins. Unfortunately, he suffered an injury that will take him out for the entire 2026-27 season. The Dolphins announced they moved him to season-ending injured reserve. The injury was undisclosed.
Salyer, now 26, signed with the Dolphins on a one-year deal this offseason after four seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers. He started 31 of the 34 games he played in his first two seasons, taking over as the left tackle starter in 2022 following the loss of starter Rashawn Slater in 2022 and earning the start at right guard when Slater came back from injury.
Unfortunately, while he was good in 2022 (69.8 Pro Football Focus grade and a 76.4 pass-blocking grade), his 2023 was not as effective. He had just a 54.2 PFF grade, allowing eight sacks and 41 pressures.
From 2024 onward, Salyer was a depth piece on the offensive line, starting just nine games in the past two seasons. In 2025, his PFF grade stood at just 59.9. He allowed 22 pressures and four sacks, while also generating eight penalties, according to PFF Premium (subscription needed). He was looking for a bounce back season with the Dolphins, but unfortunately, it appears to be cut way too short.
Before his time in the NFL, Salyer played with the Bulldogs from 2018-21. He was a second-team All-American in 2021 as the team's primary left tackle. He allowed one sack and 14 pressures in his entire Georgia career, helping the Bulldogs win the national championship. That prompted the Chargers to draft him in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft.
