The New Orleans Saints surprised a lot of NFL draft experts when they selected Georgia Bulldogs tight end Oscar Delp in the third-round of the 2026 NFL draft. Delp did not take long to make an impact with the Saints. In his first career NFL preseason game, Delp scored a one-yard touchdown catch. Delp nearly dropped the pass, but did just enough to hold on to the ball. Delp's touchdown put the Saints up 17-6, but New Orleans blew that lead and lost 24-20 to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Delp finished his debut with three catches for 10 yards and a touchdown on six targets. He'd like to be a little more efficient with his targets moving forward. "It's an encouraging start for a player competing to earn an immediate role behind Juwan Johnson and Noah Fant," Saints Wire's Arye Pulli said of Delp, who was give a B+ grade for his performance. "Delp looked comfortable as a short-area target, giving his quarterback a reliable option when space became limited. He just needs to keep better control of the football." Oscar Delp's touchdown
