Former Jackson State football defensive backs Robert McDaniel and Isaiah Bolden have joined NFL rosters this preseason.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced they signed McDaniel on Aug. 16, and the Philadelphia Eagles announced they signed Bolden on Aug. 17.
Bolden played at Jackson State from 2020-22. He was drafted in 2023 by the New England Patriots in the seventh round. He is the most recent player to be drafted out of JSU.
He spent two seasons with the Patriots and was on the San Francisco 49ers' practice squad in 2025. In his career, he has 10 tackles and one fumble recovery.
McDaniel joins the Buccaneers after being released by the Washington Commanders on Aug. 11. McDaniel, who spent the 2019 and 2024 seasons at JSU, played on Washington's practice squad last season. He has yet to appear in a regular season game.
