Former Washington Huskies star running back Jonah Coleman saw his first taste of NFL action on Friday night as the Denver Broncos cruised past the Atlanta Falcons in a 27-7 preseason victory. In the win, he took four carries for 24 yards and showcased the same skill set that he did during his time playing for coach Jedd Fisch on Montlake: shiftiness, contact balance, and power, as he battles with J.K. Dobbins and R.J. Harvey for playing time in coach Sean Payton's backfield. While playing a pair of drives for Denver, the fourth-round pick in April's draft didn't take long to get into the swing of things at the next level.
“I’m not the best in the world yet…I haven’t done anything yet.” Postgame with #Broncos rookie RB Jonah Coleman after his first preseason game 🏈 pic.twitter.com/o2NhyWjJNY — Scotty Gange (@Scotty_G6) August 15, 2026 "It felt great, especially to be out there and go out there with my teammates," Coleman told Scotty Gange of 9News Denver of his debut. "It's a hard camp, it's a long camp, but to be able to go out there and ultimately get the win, that's what it's all about: going out there and having fun with my teammates." However, even after a strong debut, the former three-star recruit, who compiled 1,811 yards and 25 touchdowns on the ground, to go along with 54 catches for 531 yards and a pair of scores in his two years with the Huskies, doesn't feel like he's proven anything just yet. "I ain't do nothing yet," Coleman continued. "I got a couple carries, got my feet wet, but I still ain't do nothing, so...it felt good today to be able to play football again, now that football is back, but I'm still hungry. I've still got goals to achieve; I still ain't made my mark yet." This article originally appeared on Huskies Wire: Former Washington star makes strong impression in NFL preseason debut
