Former Wisconsin Badgers quarterback Billy Edwards Jr. is in danger of losing the job at North Carolina.
Edwards Jr. has just one year remaining of eligibility, and it's not like he did much in Madison last season.
Obviously, that was due to him getting hurt in the season opener, and while UW had hopes he would return, he attempted just three passes less than a month after going down, and that was all there was for Edwards Jr.'s time with the Badgers.
After transferring to UNC in the offseason, it seemed like the Virginia native had the starting job locked down. Suddenly, TarHeel247 is reporting otherwise.
According to a recent report by Grant Hughes, Texas A&M transfer Miles O'Neil has given Edwards Jr. a run for his money, and head coach Bill Belichick is actually leaning towards starting O'Neil over Edwards Jr.
For reference, O'Neil is only a sophomore who's just 12-for-20 in his passing career with two touchdowns and two interceptions. He had seven carries for nine yards with the Aggies last season, so it'll be interesting to see which direction the Tar Heels go in with the 2026 season right around the corner.
