In Justin Boone’s most recent Top 300 overall fantasy football players in full points per reception (FPPR) leagues from Aug. 11, four players from the Washington Commanders were in the top.

In Justin Boone’s most recent Top 300 overall fantasy football players in full points per reception (FPPR) leagues from Aug. 11, four players from the Washington Commanders were in the top 100 players on the list, with a total of eight players making the overall list.

Washington’s top-ranked player on Boone’s list is wide receiver Terry McLaurin.  He is the No. 42 overall player and No. 23 among wide receivers.  The Commanders regressed significantly last year, partly because quarterback Jayden Daniels played only seven games.  McLaurin also missed seven games, which is more time than he has ever missed in a season.  Washington is a favorite to make a comeback this season and potentially make the playoffs as long as everyone stays healthy.  McLaurin can certainly get fantasy owners a lot of points, as he proved in 2024 when he had over 1,000 yards and 13 touchdowns.  He is definitely someone that can be drafted in between the fifth and seventh rounds, depending on the size of your league.

The next Commanders player on Boone’s list is newly-added wide receiver Stefon Diggs, who is the No. 63 overall player.  Diggs is coming off a good campaign with the AFC Champions, the New England Patriots, where he put up over 1,000 receiving yards but only mustered four touchdowns.  He should be able to find the end zone more this year with Daniels as his quarterback.  However, McLaurin is still considered the No. 1 receiver on the roster, as proven by the Commanders’ unofficial depth chart.  So, Diggs most likely will not get as many fantasy points as McLaurin, but is still someone who could be a good option to start in your flex or as a backup receiver this year.

Quarterback Jayden Daniels is the third Washington Commander on the list, ranked No. 67 overall and No. 3 among quarterbacks.  The only two quarterbacks ahead of him are Josh Allen with the Buffalo Bills and Lamar Jackson with the Baltimore Ravens.  Even though Daniels only played seven games last season, it makes sense that he is so far up on the list.  Running quarterbacks often net more fantasy points, and Daniels loves to take off.  Last season, he averaged nearly 40 rushing yards a game and had two rushing touchdowns in addition to his eight passing touchdowns.  The key for him will be staying healthy, which has been a problem in his first two years because of how often he runs the ball and puts his body on the line.  Fantasy owners should be cautious when drafting him.  He may have the potential to be a top fantasy quarterback, but could also end up being a little bit of a bust if he misses too much time.

The final Commanders player to make the top 100 is running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt at No. 84 overall.  As a rookie, Croskey-Merritt finished last season with 805 rushing yards and eight touchdowns, although he barely saw any involvement in the passing game.  Nonetheless, he comes into this season as the clear No. 1 running back for Washington.  He did have a fumbling problem last season with four total fumbles, but is still a good backup running back to have on your fantasy roster.

The other four Commanders players to make Boone’s top 300 are running back Rachaad White, tight end Chig Okonkwo, rookie running back Kaytron Allen and rookie wide receiver Antonio Williams.  Allen had a strong preseason debut with 85 rushing yards and a touchdown while Williams recorded a 16-yard reception.  Although Williams is listed as a third-team wide receiver on Washington’s unofficial depth chart, he could be someone who emerges later in the season as a viable fantasy prospect.
