Massillon (Ohio) Washington Rivals300 linebacker Brayton Feister announced his commitment to Oregon on Friday.
The four-star Feister chose to play for Dan Lanning and the Ducks over California and Georgia. Other offers included Auburn, Notre Dame and Ohio State.
“When you know you know,” Feister told Rivals on the morning of his decision day. “Oregon just feels like home.
“I’ve felt very strong with them from the beginning and nothing ever changed. My favorite things are the culture, the common goals among the players and the way the coaching staff takes care of the guys!”
The Golden Bears got real aggressive from an NIL perspective down the stretch, but no program did a more consistent job recruiting the 6-foot-2, 245-pound Feister than Oregon.
“What continues to excite me about playing for Coach Lanning is making history with a great coach,” Feister said. “That opportunity alone is rare and I have the chance to be a part of it!”
Ranked by the Rivals Industry as the nation’s No. 10 linebacker and No. 130 prospect overall, Feister becomes commit No. 25 for Oregon in the 2027 recruiting cycle. It’s the No. 1 class in the Big Ten and the Rivals Industry ranks it No. 4 in the country.
Feister believes playing for this Oregon staff will bring the best out of him.
“I think it’s due to the culture they’ve built out there,” Feister said of all the success. “The team camaraderie they’ve established and everyone is like-minded and has the same goals!”
Recruited by future position coach Brian Michalowski, Feister made it out to Eugene several times during his process and always raved about Oregon.
“Oregon is an incredible place. Coach Lanning and Coach B-Mike are great. They develop guys and produce. Look at Bryce (Boettcher) he was a walk-on safety now a NFL draft pick so if they can develop a guy like that imagine what they could do with me. Also they have two senior backers this coming season so the opportunity to earn a starting job as a freshman is great!”
