Game balls for the Broncos 27-7 preseason win over the Falcons

The Denver Broncos had a dominant first half in their 27-7 preseason win over the Atlanta Falcons and would coast to victory in the second.

There were many game-ball worthy plays out there in this game and we could not cover them all. I know Riley Moss had himself a big game as did the front seven that dominated early with pressures and tackles for losses. In the second half, things were a bit more sloppy but there were a few notable performances there too.

Overall, you couldn’t have asked for a better meaningless preseason game out of any NFL team. I was quite happy and enjoyed the performance.

Here are Mile High Report’s game balls for the Broncos’ 27-7 preseason victory against the Falcons.

Jarrett Stidham

One guy who absolutely needed to come out and perform well in the preseason was likely Stiddy. He was thrust into the unenviable position of starting his first real game last year in the AFC Championship Game and didn’t play great.

In his first game action since that loss, he went 9-15 for 131 yards and a touchdown along with a beautiful deep shot to Courtland Sutton that setup another touchdown. He was efficient and exactly the guy you’d expect to have backing up your franchise quarterback. He is the clear #2 at quarterback behind Bo Nix. – Tim Lynch

Jahdae Barron

Jahdae Barron gets my game ball this week. He got a pick-6 off a deflection and darn near had a second interception later in the game. Cornerback is a premium position and it is good to know we have a baller waiting in the wings who can play inside and out. – Sadaraine

Jonah Coleman

Jonah Coleman gets my game ball. He had five really nice runs (one got called back for holding). On his four runs that counted he gained 24 yards and he made defenders miss as well as ran though some arm tackles. – Joe Mahoney

Courtland Sutton

Courtland Sutton looks to be benefiting from the extra rest in camp because he came out in midseason form, hauling in multiple big time catches and looking like the clutch X receiver Denver needs him to be this year. Oh and that was with Stidham throwing him the ball. – Jeff Essary

Davis Webb

Yes, it’s the first game of the preseason. And it was against the Atlanta Falcons. But the first game with Webb calling plays couldn’t have gone any better. That first drive of the preseason was simply fantastic. The mix of plays and rhythm the offense was in, especially in the first half was due in part to Webb and his play calls. To do it without Bo Nix, J.K. Dobbins, and Jaylen Waddle adds even more excitement to Webb’s start. – Ian St. Clair
