During a recent interview with NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Brian Baldinger, Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman George Karlaftis expressed his appreciation for the team's training camp being held at Missouri Western State University. "Every year it's a little bit of a gut check. As I get older, I get to appreciate it more and more," said Karlaftis. "It's all football, all day, no distractions. You can see it, the improvements from the young guys basically focusing on this and nothing else. It makes you a better player, honestly. So I love coming here."

Karlaftis has already built a reputation as a veteran since being drafted into the NFL in 2022. He acknowledged several player departures from last season while embracing the new rookie class of defenders. This year's training camp at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, Missouri, marks the 16th time the Chiefs have taken it over. Karlaftis finished last season with 48 total tackles and six sacks in 16 games. He also had a fumble recovery and two pass deflections.
