The 2026 Kentucky football season continues to get closer and closer, and is now just 19 days away. As we count down the days to the start of the Will Stein era, we're getting to know the players on the roster. Today, we're getting to know No. 19, Kenny Darby.
Darby is a 6'1", 180 lb wide receiver out of Louisiana who was one of Coach Stein's first recruiting wins. He was rated four stars by 247Sports, and the ranked him as the No. 205 overall player in this year's class.
Originally an LSU Tigers commit, Darby decommitted, and spent the fall considering his options. When Stein took over the Kentucky job, he jumped into the recruitment, and came away with a tremendous talent.
With good size for the position, and track speed to get down the field, Darby could develop into an elite receiver, and big play merchant. In 2026, Kentucky has a deep receiving corps, but no set leader. There's room for Darby to quickly move up the depth chart and contribute early on.
Getting Darby to Lexington was a terrific move for the Wildcats. Teams can never have enough good pass catchers, and Darby might be the most talented one on the roster.
