The Kentucky football season, and the debut of new head coach Will Stein, is now 19 days away, and fans are starting to get excited. As we count down the days until game one, we are getting to know the players on the roster. Today, we're taking a look at No. 19, Kevis Thomas.
Thomas is a 6'0", 181 lb defensive back out of Perry, Florida. As a prospect in the 2023 recruiting class, he was rated three stars by 247Sports and ranked as the No. 574 overall player in their composite rankings.
Kentucky offered Thomas out of high school, along with Louisville, Arkansas, and others. However, he committed to Maryland.
A redshirt season wasn't on the table for Thomas, who played in six games as a freshman. Then, he started six games in 2024, and recorded 21 tackles and 2 pass breakups.
After the 2024 season, Thomas transferred to Kentucky, and saw action in all 12 games for the Wildcats. Going into 2026, he will likely once again be in the rotation as a part of a deep secondary. As Stein allows them to battle for starting jobs, he has a chance to shine, and become an impact player.
