The New York Giants have one of the more interesting running backs in the NFL, Cam Skattebo. He's an incredible runner and receiver, but there are always going to be underlying injury concerns.
While he's good to go right now, having quality depth can never hurt. The Giants do have a few nice running backs in Tyrone Tracy and Devin Singletary. But they're showing interest in adding another.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Giants are hosting former Pittsburgh Steelers and Los Angeles Chargers running back Najee Harris on a free-agent visit.

"Free-agent RB Najee Harris is visiting today with the New York Giants," Schefter reports on August 17.
Skattebo, Tracy, and Singletary form a solid trio, but adding some extra depth couldn't hurt with the injury questions about Skattebo long-term and Tracy's pass-protection blunder in the preseason opener that got Jaxson Dart rocked.
Harris, the 28-year-old veteran running back, is a former Pro Bowler who's spent the first four years of his NFL career with the Steelers, putting up at least 1,000 yards rushing every season.
He had 1,200 yards in 2021, 1,034 rushing yards in 2022, 1,035 in 2023, and then 1,043 yards in 2024 with the Steelers. He also ran for seven, seven, eight, and then six touchdowns respectively across those four seasons.

But he joined the Chargers last season, and in three games before a season-ending Achilles injury, he ran for 61 yards on 15 attempts.
Harris might not be the highest-upside running back anymore, but he's a solid veteran tailback who'd be a nice depth addition for the Giants.
They might not sign him, but if they do, he could potentially serve as an alternative to Singletary or Tracy on the depth chart.
For now, the Giants are only bringing Harris in on a visit, and there's only a chance they sign him. It's a free-agent visit to keep in mind, as these visits can sometimes lead to contracts, and in Harris's case, it'd likely be a cheap one-year deal.
