The New York Giants have a lot of very fun pieces on offense, but with Jaxson Dart, Malik Nabers, and especially Cam Skattebo, there are some real injury concerns.

Having quality backups is a must, and while the wide receiver room could use some work, the quarterback room is in a good spot. But at running back, despite already having a few solid backups, the Giants have made another addition.

According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the Giants have signed free agent running back Najee Harris to a one-year deal. The former Pittsburgh Steelers Pro Bowl running back is coming to New York.

Giants to sign Najee Harris to bolster RB depth chart

"Sources: Former Pro Bowl RB Najee Harris is signing with the Giants," Schultz reports. "Harris recorded four consecutive 1,000-yard rushing seasons with the Steelers, along with 34 total TDs."

Harris, now 29 years old, is heading into his sixth NFL season after being drafted in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft by the Steelers.

He ran for 1,200 yards in his rookie season, making his only Pro Bowl in the process. In the next three seasons, Harris ran for 1,034, 1,035, and 1,043 rushing yards.

Last season for the Los Angeles Chargers, Harris only played in three games, rushing 15 times for 61 yards before a brutal Achilles injury ended his season early.

Now, Harris will join Cam Skattebo, Tyrone Tracy Jr., Devin Singletary, and Eric Gray in the backfield for the Giants.

It's a quality backfield for the Giants, with a good blend of high-upside players and stable veteran presences. Harris might not be a heavily involved player, but he's some nice depth.

This move for the Giants could also open the door to one of Tracy or Singletary getting traded if the Giants don't want to keep four running backs.

Seeing the Giants keep five running backs would be a bit odd, so one of their current RBs is likely to be out of a job following this Harris signing.

It's a solid pickup for the Giants, bolstering their running back depth behind Skattebo, who is coming off a serious ankle injury.
