Guadalajara made its dominance count at TSM Stadium, defeating Santos Laguna 1-0 in Matchday 4 of the Apertura 2026. With the victory, the Rojiblancos picked up three valuable points and continued their climb up the Liga MX standings.

True to their style, the Rebaño Sagrado came out looking to take control from the opening whistle. Gabriel Milito’s side pushed forward and looked to create danger in the final third. Although Guadalajara went into halftime without finding the breakthrough, the team maintained its intensity and continued searching for the opening goal.

The reward for that persistence came in the second half. Santiago Sandoval produced a brilliant individual play inside the box, using a feint to beat his marker before drawing a foul that resulted in a penalty. Ricardo Marín stepped up from the spot and calmly converted to score the goal that secured Guadalajara’s victory in the Comarca Lagunera.

Guadalajara’s next match will be at home. On Saturday, August 22, the Rojiblancos will welcome Tijuana to Estadio AKRON, where they will look to claim another victory in front of the entire Rojiblanco Nation. The Goal

  • Camberos looking to break the deadlock! Just five minutes into the match, Luis Romo won the ball in the first line and played a diagonal pass toward the left flank. The ball found Hugo Camberos, who broke through the lines and drove into the box before firing a shot just wide of Acevedo’s goal.
  • Camberos again! In the 19th minute, the Rojiblanco academy product unleashed a dangerous effort from distance that sailed just over the goalkeeper and came close to finding the back of the net.
  • In the 31st minute, Jordan Carrillo tried his luck from outside the box with a powerful strike, forcing the opposing goalkeeper into a two-handed save.
  • ‘Santi’ comes charging in! In the 54th minute, Santiago Sandoval cut inside from the right flank, beating his defender before firing toward the near post and forcing Acevedo into a big save to keep the score level.
  • Sandoval once again! In the 61st minute, Luis Romo delivered a superb diagonal ball that ‘Santi’ met first time, sending a low, angled shot just wide of the target as Guadalajara came close to opening the scoring.
  • Efraín in the 84th! From the left flank, Efraín Álvarez unleashed a left-footed strike toward Acevedo’s goal, but the Santos goalkeeper got both hands behind it and turned the ball behind for a corner.
  • ‘Oso’ looking to double the lead. In the 94th minute, Rubén González tried his luck from outside the box, but his effort went wide of Acevedo’s goal.
