Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has levied penalties on GE Aerospace for delays in delivering F404-IN20 engines meant for the Tejas Light Combat Aircraft Mk-1A. According to HAL officials, the contract with GE includes a clause for liquidated damages if engine deliveries are late, and the penalties are being applied as per the agreement. HAL Chairman and Managing Director, DK Sunil, confirmed the action, stating that the delays have impacted the Tejas Mark 1A delivery schedule for the Indian Air Force (IAF).
