Haywood Highsmith has agreed to a one-year deal with Phoenix Suns, his agent Jerry Dianis confirmed to The Arizona Republic.
The 6-5, 220-pound forward was waived by the Suns last week. He had been partially guaranteed $1 million out of $3 million on the second year of a two-year deal.
By signing Highsmith to a new deal, the Suns now are back to 15 players on their standard 15-man roster.
The 6-foot-5, 220-pound forward averaged 5.4 points, 1.9 rebounds and shot a career-high 57.1% from the field from 3 in seven games last season, but was limited as he was returning from a knee injury.
Training camp begins Sept. 29.
The Suns play their season opener Oct. 21 at Portland Trail Blazers.
