Cesc Fabregas expressed pride in his Como team despite a 2-0 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield, where Jeremy Jacquet scored on his debut with the Reds.
Serie A side Como lost 2-0 away at Anfield on Sunday in their final pre-season friendly before the start of the new Serie A campaign.
Como finished in fourth last season and qualified for the Champions League for the first time in their history.
“I’m proud and very happy with what I saw,” Fabregas said at full time via Sport Mediaset.
“You need a perfect performance to beat Liverpool, and we put in a great performance. I saw many positive things. We are improving game by game; I’m very satisfied.
Liverpool won the match with two goals in the opening 45 minutes, scored by Cody Gakpo and the debutant Jacquet, who joined the Reds this summer in a €63m deal from Stade Rennais.
