With CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens, and Ryan Flournoy all resting, the Cowboys’ preseason opener on Saturday night provided an opportunity for the team’s reserve receivers to make a statement, and Camden Brown took full advantage.

Brown starred in the 17–7 victory over Seattle, catching three passes for a game-high 62 yards and two touchdowns, with both scores coming on highlight-reel catches.

MORE: Cowboys, Quinnen Williams agree to historic three-year extension

The Monroe, Louisiana, native signed with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent in May. He spent the first three seasons of his collegiate career at Auburn before transferring to Georgia Southern ahead of his senior season. Brown broke out last season, logging 65 receptions for 1,079 yards and 14 touchdowns. He was named Sun Belt Newcomer of the Year and was selected to the All-Sun Belt First Team.

Brown’s performance against Seattle gives Dallas another reason to be intrigued by his potential as the preseason continues. The 22-year-old entered Saturday’s exhibition as a third-stringer on the Cowboys’ unofficial depth chart after a strong training camp:

MORE: Ryan Flournoy eyes 2026 breakout while hoping to start this new Cowboys tradition

With Lamb, Pickens, and Flournoy already occupying the top three receiver spots, the depth chart behind them remains far from settled. Brown is competing against several receivers, including KaVontae Turpin, Jonathan Mingo, Traeshon Holden, Denzel Mims, and fellow rookie Anthony Smith.

If Brown can continue producing when given opportunities, he could force his way into the conversation for a roster spot as the Cowboys finalize their receiving corps ahead of the regular season.
