It could be a great addition or it could be a bad omen for the franchise. Indianapolis signed Keenan Allen to a 1-year deal worth up to $8.32 million. The 6-time Pro Bowler played for the Bears last year, racking up 70 catches for 744 yards and 7 TD's. Not bad for an NFL elder. Allen, 34, has a chance to contribute to a Colts offense with a fantastic running game behind Jonathan Taylor. There's only one problem. Indianapolis has another wide receiver, Alec Pierce, whose injury status is a major concern. Signing Allen could be a sign that Pierce's injury is worse than expected. After undergoing ankle surgery, the $116 million man has not participated in team activities. Colts' GM Chris Ballard says he expects Pierce to be ready for week 1 of the season. Signing a veteran wide receiver with weeks left before the opener isn't exactly a resounding shriek of confidence.
