The Kansas State Wildcats received a huge blow when Austin Romaine decided to enter the transfer portal in January.  He landed with the Texas Tech Red Raiders, so new K-State coach Collin Klein had to scramble to build a linebackers unit. So far, Klein has been impressed with what he has seen from the group. Here's what he had to say about them earlier this week:  "The four that are kind of rotating through and really doing a nice job are Gabe Powers, RexVan Wyhe, Mekhi Mason and Darien Whitaker Jr. Those four have kind of been working through there. I think we're finding some rotations with them, but all of them are doing a heck of a job." It just seems Powers and Van Wyhe will end up leading this group.  WHERE WILL JA'SON PREVARD FIT IN?  Even though the Wildcats reeled in Virginia Cavaliers transfer Ja'Son Prevard, expect him to work for his starting spot as well. Earlier this week, Klein broke down what he has seen thus far in training camp.  Klein specifically mentioned Prevard, Logan Bartley, Wesley Fair, Adrian Maddox and Koy Beasley.  A 6-foot-2, 200-pound senior, Prevard was an honorable mention All-ACC selection last year. He had 24 tackles, three interceptions and eight passes defended. Even though Klein has yet to reveal a depth chart, it is believed Prevard will get one of the starting spots.  He is another player who is "competing" for a starting spot but will likely end up No. 1 on the depth chart.  CIRCLE THIS DATE ON CALENDAR This is perhaps the most anticipated football season for the Kansas State Wildcats in recent years.  It marks the first year of the coach Collin Klein era. He replaced the successful Chris Klieman, who resigned unexpectedly following last year's 6-6 finish. A former Wildcats star, Klein has hopes of making them once again a contender in the Big 12 conference.  And fans can have their chance to meet Klein and the players Aug. 22 at the annual "Meet the Cats" event at Bill Snyder Family Stadium.
