Villa, on the other hand, has lost two games in a row, though it’s worth highlighting each of those games were against teams that featured in the final four of last term’s Champions League. The Villans surrendered 2-1 against UCL semi-finalist Bayern Munich in Hong Kong before seeing out an identical result in the Super Cup defeat to PSG on Wednesday.
England stars Ollie Watkins and Ezri Konsa will not feature in Germany this weekend after only recently returning to the fold following an extended post-World Cup break. Fortunately, 17-year-old striker Brian Madjo has shone in Watkins’ absence up front and picked up his fifth goal of pre-season in the defeat to PSG.
