Scheffler enters the postseason at No. 1 in the FedExCup standings and headlines a loaded field after finishing runner-up in his most recent start at the 3M Open. The World No. 1 has also played well at TPC Southwind in recent years, finishing fourth in 2024 and third in 2025. McIlroy provides another major storyline after deciding to return to Memphis following his decision to skip the playoff opener last season. He begins the week No. 12 in the FedExCup standings and will play alongside Scheffler during the first two rounds.

The pressure extends throughout the field because only the top 50 players in the FedExCup standings after the tournament will advance to next week’s BMW Championship. Defending champion Justin Rose returns after beating J.J.
