The Oregon Ducks enter the 2026 college football season with legitimate national championship aspirations.
Those aspirations don't just rest in Eugene, though; they spread across the nation, with many in the know believing that this roster that Dan Lanning has built has a chance to finally do what no other Oregon team before it has been able to do: Win the whole thing.
Several of the biggest voices in college football have released their College Football Playoff and national championship predictions in recent weeks, and the Ducks are a popular pick to make it to one of the final rounds of the bracket, if not win the entire thing.
Not everyone is sold, though. While some analysts have Oregon surviving the playoff and lifting the trophy at the end of the year, others see the Ducks falling short — including one projection that has them exiting in the first round.
Here is how some of the top analysts in college football predict Oregon's 2026 season will end.
David Pollack
Oregon Prediction: National Championship win vs. Texas Longhorns
National Champion: Oregon Ducks
How: Despite warning Oregon fans to be a bit timid going into the year because of the coordinator changes, David Pollack has Oregon beating teams like the Georgia Bulldogs and Notre Dame Fighting Irish to set up a showdown against Texas in the championship game. In the end, Pollack has the Ducks beating the Longhorns in the final game of the year.
J.D. Pickell
Oregon Prediction: National Championship win vs. Georgia Bulldogs
National Champion: Oregon Ducks
How: After earning the No. 2 overall seed in J.D. Pickell's bracket, Oregon beats the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and then the No. 6 seed Oklahoma Sooners to get into the championship. A rematch with Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs will be tasty for Dan Lanning, but Pickell has the Ducks coming out on top this time for a championship.

Oregon Prediction: National Championship win vs. Notre Dame Fighting Irish
National Champion: Oregon Ducks
How: As the No. 3 seed, Crawford has Oregon going up against the Indiana Hoosiers in a highly anticipated rematch of last year's Peach Bowl, but this time, they come out on top. After that, Crawford has the Ducks downing the Texas Longhorns and then beating the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the championship.

Oregon Prediction: Quarterfinals loss to Georgia Bulldogs
National Champion: Georgia Bulldogs
How: After earning a No. 3 seed and first-round bye, Staples predicts that Dan Lanning once again falls to his former boss, Kirby Smart, with the Bulldogs rolling to the championship with wins over the Indiana Hoosiers, Ducks, Michigan Wolverines, and then Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the finale.
