Las Vegas Raiders coach Klint Kubiak has major expectations for the 2026 NFL season. Kubiak is anticipated to help the Raiders improve upon the 3-14 record that they finished with in 2025 and forge a new culture in Las Vegas next season, but will he win more games than the other head coaches in the league that have been brought on by new teams?
NFL.com’s Bucky Brooks has Kubiak winning the sixth-most games among all of the head coaches set to lead new teams in 2026.
“If identifying and acquiring strong options at head coach and quarterback are essential to turning things around, the Raiders should be on the upswing after pairing Kubiak with Fernando Mendoza in the offseason. The clever play-caller is fresh off an impressive season in Seattle where he helped turn Sam Darnold into a Super Bowl-winning quarterback.”
Las Vegas may not have as much talent as other teams with new coaches, but with key additions including Kirk Cousins and Tyler Linderbaum, the team will be determined behind Kubiak and in better standing to win more games.
Kubiak’s run schemes have already proven to help create holes up the middle in the team’s preseason opener, an area that prevented Ashton Jeanty from having a higher yards per carry average last season than the 3.7 yards per attempt that he averaged in 2025. Kubiak’s championship-level play-calling is expected to help Las Vegas greatly, and the team doubling up their win total from last season may not be outrageous to foresee.
