Pittsburgh Steelers training camp is in the books and after going over the roster, we've made some big changes to our mock draft. With just one preseason game to go off of along with numerous practices, we feel confident about the positions we targeted here in this five-round mock draft for the 2027 NFL Draft and that includes not putting a quarterback in here.
First round - WR Omarion Miller - Arizona State
We love what we've seen from Roman Wilson and Germie Bernard but have legitimate concerns about both DK Metcalf and Michael Pittman Jr. being on the roster next season. Miller is a great outside weapon and one of our big breakout candidates this college football season.
Second round - S Jelani McDonald - Texas
There are real concerns about the depth at safety, even with rookie Robert Spears-Jennings playing so well. This leaves us with the easy choice of the versatile and athletic Jelani McDonald in the second round.
Third round - LB Cole Sullivan - Oklahoma
Like wide receiver, we expect significant turnover at inside linebacker which could include Patrick Queen and/or Malik Harrison. Cole Sullivan is a physical, smart inside backer who is always around the football.
Fourth round - EDGE John Henry Daley - Michigan
It's hard to imagine the Steelers paying T.J. Watt, Alex Highsmith and Nick Herbig their massive salaries in 2027 so we opt for Daley to replace one of them as he looks to transfer to Michigan and have a breakout campaign.
Fifth round - TE Brody Foley - Louisville
If we were going to give the Steelers a new tight end, it had to be Brody Foley, who is a towering 6-foot-7 and 260 pounds. But he's more than just a huge target; he's very skilled as a receiver.
