Credit One Bank is ending its decade-long ‘One Lap to Go’ broadcast integration with NASCAR, but the company has made it clear that its relationship with the sport is not going away.

The familiar ‘Credit One, one to go’ phrase has been part of NASCAR broadcasts since 2016, becoming closely associated with the final lap of races.

Credit One’s partnership has extended beyond television over the years, including a NASCAR-branded American Express card offering fan rewards and race-related benefits.

Credit One confirms NASCAR relationship will continue after broadcast change

Credit One Bank has confirmed it will continue investing in NASCAR despite stepping away from its long-running broadcast role.

‘We’re incredibly grateful to the fans and cardmembers who have experienced this partnership alongside us,’ Credit One said, adding that it remains passionate about NASCAR’s athletes and fans.

The company also said it will ‘continue to invest in the sport now and for years to come’.

That is a notable statement given how recognisable the partnership has become.

Credit One first became an official NASCAR sponsor in 2016, also working with the now-defunct NASCAR operation of Chip Ganassi Racing.

The relationship later developed through the Credit One Bank NASCAR American Express Card, which was created specifically for NASCAR fans.

However, NASCAR is already preparing for a new sponsor to take over the credit card category.

From 2027, Avant will become NASCAR’s new official credit card sponsor as part of a multi-year partnership. It will also launch a new co-branded NASCAR credit card built around fan rewards and experiences.

Craig Stimmel, NASCAR’s senior vice president and chief commercial officer, said the agreement would give fans more ways to engage with the sport.

‘NASCAR fans are among the most passionate and loyal in sports, and this partnership with Avant creates another meaningful way to reward that passion,’ Stimmel said.

Avant’s card will also offer automatic All-Star status in NASCAR Fan Rewards, along with early ticket access and enhanced rewards.

For NASCAR, the change creates a new commercial chapter without completely closing the door on Credit One.

The ‘Credit One, one to go’ call may soon disappear from broadcasts, but Credit One’s latest comments suggest the company is not ready to leave NASCAR behind.
